LONDON—The Genesis Housing Association here, which manages 33,000 homes across 88 local authority areas in London and the East of England, is seeking to partner with one or more credit unions to provide residents with improved financial services options.
As part of what is known as the “tendering process,” in which organizations can tender offers to work with the public sector, Genesis said it is particularly on the look-out for "innovative and creative ideas" that will give greater choice to social housing tenants, many of whom may not be able to access mainstream financial products.
Applicants are also being asked to outline a suggested support offer for tenants moving into work who may struggle financially during the transition from out-of-work benefits to wages in the first few months of employment.
