Irish CU Members Would Favor Mergers, If...

DUBLIN, Ireland—A  majority of adults in this country say that favor mergers of credit unions if it will provide enhanced products and services. The research, by Behaviour and Attitudes, found that 84% of adults favor such combinations, with 25% of those polled also saying they would switch to a credit union if a full range of products and services were made available. Among the improved offerings Irish adults would like to see are ATM cards, debit cards, longer opening hours and online banking. The research was overseen by the Credit Union Restructuring Board, which is dealing with overseeing the recovery of the many troubled credit unions in Ireland.
