DELMOPAN, Belize–Members of La Inmaculada Credit Union staged a peaceful demonstration front of the institution’s headquarters following a statement from the credit union that an investigation was underway and as a result its general manager was being put on administrative leave.
According to reporting by LoveFM, approximately 30 members of the credit union held the peaceful march to express concerns that they were not being provided with enough information. While the CU announced the investigation and the leave of GM Yoli Gomez, Love FM said the information provided was vague and they want more information on that the investigation is all about.
Love FM said the credit union’s chair, Ena Martinez, issued a statement later in the afternoon promising full accountability but also not providing many additional details.
