VIEUX FORT, St. Lucia–The first-ever financial Reality Fair was held here and was attended by more than 350 high school and college students, well as 10 adult credit union members from the Southern Districts of the Island.
The Laborie Credit Union sponsored the event, which was resourced by 70 volunteers (from the various credit unions on the island. The event was coordinated by Laborie CU’s Jeanell Garness.
A second fair was held on the north side of the island, in Castries, where another 150 students were expected to attend. That Fair was sponsored by the Civil Service Credit Union and coordinated by Junia Emmanuel-Belizaire.
Coaching for the event was provided by Michelle Wallace, Finance Manager of Trinidad and Tobago's COPOS Credit Union.
