DUBLIN, Ireland—E-Services & Communications Credit Union (ESCCU) here is making a stronger bid to target workers at high-tech employers such as Google and Intel. The Irish Independent called the move a “radical break” from the “traditional focus of the sector which has been on rural and middle-aged people.”
The expansion still requires the OK of regulators and members, and would open the credit union to employers that include Amazon, Apple, Cisco, IBM, Microsoft and Facebook. If OK’d, reported the newspaper, “it would turn it into the most powerful credit union in the state.” Plans are to open offices inside or near those companies if approved, the Independent reported.
