SINGAPORE–The World Council of Credit Unions has officially kicked off the globe’s largest international gathering of credit unions at the Suntec Convention Center here.
The 2018 World Credit Union Conference has drawn attendees from credit union movements around the world. The meeting will run through Wednesday evening and also includes a number of visits with local credit unions.
The conference will include approximately two-dozen breakout sessions, as well as keynote presentations from speakers who include:
- Chris Skinner, a fintech expert and best-selling author
- Shivvy Jervis, an award-winning futurist
- Ron Kaufman, a global thought leader on customer service
Breakout sessions, which often at WOCCU events reveal the commonality of issues being faced by credit unions around the world, include looks at cybersecurity, blockchain, leadership, regulation, recruitment, analytics and diversity.
The Global Women’s Leadership network will also host several events and discussions in conjunction with the World CU Conference.
As always at a World Council event, the meeting is being translated into several languages, including into English for presentations made by non-English speakers. The meeting is being co-hosted by the Singapore National Cooperative Federation, which represents the 1.38 million Singaporeans who belong to a cooperative enterprise.
CUToday.info will have coverage of the meeting.
