HONOLULU–NAFCU has kicked off its 50th Annual Conference and Solutions Expo here. The trade group will be meeting through Friday.
"We are excited to be celebrating NAFCU's 50th anniversary and the association's accomplishments in Honolulu," said NAFCU President and CEO Dan Berger. “NAFCU’s Annual Conference and Solutions Expo brings credit union leaders together to learn the latest on important industry issues and trends. This year’s program is designed to help credit unions strengthen their operations and grow their bottom line.”
As part of the first day of the meeting, Berger lead a member-only “Private Conversation” with other NAFCU senior staff. In addition, the Defense Credit Union Summit took place with sponsorship from Allied Solutions, where attendees learned about the impact of the Military Lending Act and networked with other credit union leaders invested in defense issues. A pre-conference workshop was also held for board and supervisory committee members.

Berger will kick off the conference today with a welcome address and opening remarks; this portion of Wednesday's session will be streamed live. Other general session speakers this week include NCUA Acting Chairman J. Mark McWatters and Board Member Rick Metsger on the latest agency activities and plans. Keynote speakers include Jeff Havens, Army Maj. Gen. (Ret.) John McClean, and numerous others.
