TOPEKA, Kans.—New details have emerged in the case of Envista Credit Union Chairman Daniel Gene Ramsey, who was arrested Thursday evening in Shawnee County on a sexual battery charge.
The arrest warrant now alleges that on March 26 Ramsey, 65, physically touched the victim, born in 1972, with the intent to arouse or satisfy the sexual desires of Ramsey or someone else, This is Topeka reported.

Ramsey, 65, has resigned from the position.
According to jail records, Ramsey was booked at 4:15 p.m. on Sept. 18, under case number 25CR1163, with bond set at $2,500 cash, This is Topeka said.
Records also indicate Ramsey was booked on Oct. 13, 2023, on a domestic battery charge involving physical contact with a family member or dating partner. The outcome of that case is not currently available, This is Topeka noted.
This is Topeka stated Ramsey’s arrest has “sparked widespread discussion and calls for transparency from Envista Credit Union’s board of directors.”
CUToday.info requested comment from Envista, which provided a prepared statement.
"The individual referenced in recent reports has resigned from the board and is no longer affiliated with Envista Federal Credit Union," said Val Williams, VP of marketing at Envista.
CUToday.info asked the organization whether it was aware of the 2023 domestic battery charge, whether the charge was accurate, and, if so, why Ramsey remained on the board.
"We are aware of the 2023 case referenced in recent coverage," stated Williams. "That case was immediately dismissed, and no charges remain. Out of respect for the legal process and the individuals involved, Envista will not provide further comment on past legal matters. Our focus remains on ensuring strong leadership for our credit union and continuing to serve our members, staff, and community with integrity."
This is Topeka noted that sexual battery is a serious charge under Kansas law and can result in jail time, offender registration, and other legal consequences if convicted.
Ramsey is scheduled to appear at a hearing in the case at 9 a.m. Oct. 29 in Shawnee County District Court, This is Topeka reported, citing court records.
