Governmental Affairs Conference Set to Kick Off

WASHINGTON–For the first time since the early 1970s, CUNA will not be hosting the Governmental Affairs Conference (GAC) when the event kicks off this weekend—instead, America’s Credit Unions will stage its first-ever GAC.

The new trade group created by the merger of CUNA and NAFCU will officially launch the biggest event in credit unions on Sunday, but many league, CUSO, credit union and other executives with CU-affiliated organizations will arrive ahead of that time for other meetings.

The meeting, at which at least 4,000 people are expected, will feature its standard format and be held in the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. It will conclude on Wednesday and Thursday with credit unions hiking the Hill to meet with their respective representatives and their staff.
