Overwhelmed By Email? Here's When It Was Supposed To Be A Time-Saver

LONDON–Do you spend more time managing people, or managing email? Very often it can feel like the latter, and that doesn’t include texts, tweets and other online content. While e-mail has become ubiquitous, it hasn’t always been that way for “electronic mail.” Here’s a 1984 video from Thames TV that explains how to send an electronic message from a home to another location. For credit unions, of interest is that the home computer featured is cooperatively owned.

And all it takes to send an email is five minutes—which should have many managers wishing the technology had peaked at that point.
