RALEIGH, N.C.—To mark National Doughnut Day today, ElecTel Cooperative FCU is running a one-day loan sale.
ElecTel’s one day “Hot Loans Now” promotion is offering loan with rates as low as 1.99% APR today (it has been accepting loan apps online in the week leading up to today).
"We’ve brought in as much as $800,000 from our themed one day loan promotions in the past," said CEO Nancy Long. “We offer one day loan promotions several times a year. Members always look forward to them.”
While the idea for a Doughnut Day themed loan promotion is fresh, the idea of Doughnut Day dates back many years. The Salvation Army started national Donut Day during the Great Depression as a way to raise funds and bring awareness to The Salvation Army’s social service programs.
