Yes, It’s True: Customer Gives Money Back To Wells Fargo

GLENOLDEN, Penn.–From the truth is stranger than fiction department: A Pennsylvania woman who received hundreds of extra dollars after a Wells Fargo ATM spit the cash out by mistake has returned the money.

She said it was the right thing to do, since it wasn’t her money.

The good deed follows a long stream of bad deeds by the bank, ranging from more than two-million bogus customer accounts to employees alleging they were forced to work overtime for free to create those accounts, to a recent admission by the bank it illegally seized cars belong to deployed military personnel.

In the Pennsylvania case, Kristina Edwards said she was seeking to withdraw $60 when the machine instead gave her $380. When she contacted the bank, Edwards said Wells Fargo said she could return the money to any branch.

Edwards, 35, is a single mother of two. Wells Fargo issued a statement that it was “grateful” the money was returned.
