LINCOLN PARK, Mich.––A woman had to be pulled from a burning vehicle at a credit union’s ATM here.
According to police, the woman, who has not been identified, was inside an SUV and was using the drive-up ATM at Credit Union One here when the vehicle began burning. Because the car was so close to the credit union, the woman was unable to exit the vehicle.
A police officer, Joe Sparks, who happened to be nearby, along with an unidentified civilian smashed the window open in order to pull the woman from the car.
The vehicle was completely destroyed in the fire, and there was damage to the credit union structure, as well.
