With Successful Defense Matters Event Behind It, DCUC Prepared for Role During CUNA’s GAC

Anthony Hernandez

WASHINGTON—In the wake of what it reported was a successful virtual broadcast of its Defense Matters event last week, the Defense Credit Union Council (DCUC) now says it is ready for CUNA’s Governmental Affairs Conference, which begins today.

DCUC President/CEO Anthony Hernandez will interview retired Lieutenant General H.R. McMaster, who among many roles served as National Security Advisor during the Trump administration, during the GAC’s opening keynote session Tuesday at 11 a.m. ET. Topics discussed will include resilience during challenging times, specifically strategic confidence and competence, and how lessons learned in the military translate to credit unions.

Additionally, DCUC is sponsoring the National Credit Union Foundation Celebration Tuesday evening and the Cooperative Trust’s virtual Thunderpunch event.

“DCUC grew out of a CUNA sub-council, and we are always happy to return to our advocacy roots each year,” said Hernandez. “Every credit union has at least one military member. The work we do together as an industry is essential.”
