WICHITA, Kan.–Two Kansas credit unions have announced plans to merge.
The $32.3-million Campus Credit Union and the $42.6-million Freedom 1st FCU, headquartered at McConnell AFB approximately eight miles away, have signed a merger agreement and plan to unite in the latter part of 2024. The combined organization will have 4,700 members and three branches.
Campus CU reported a loss of $475,170 at year-end, with capital of 10.49%. Freedom 1st FCU posted $648,362 in net income and 15.72% capital.
Moving Forward
The credit unions said the plan is to now jointly apply for state and federal regulatory approval, followed by a vote by Campus members.
Shawn Riley, current president & CEO of Campus, will lead the combined organization. Ronda Posch, current president & CEO of Freedom 1st, will retire in December 2024.
