With Congress Looking to Head Home, Passing NDAA is Big Goal for Week

WASHINGTON–With Congress looking to get out of town by the end of the week, it’s likely the only big item that may be completed in time will be the $900-billion National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA).

Credit unions remain more than satisfied that two strongly opposed provisions—language related card interchange and bank access to bases-has not been included in the bill that emerged from conference committee, as CUToday.info reported here.

“It’s kind of teed up in the Senate and then ultimately, the House to approve,” said NAFCU VP-Legislative Affairs Brad Thaler. “With the supplemental (budget bill) it’s looking less likely they will complete work on it before the holidays.”
