With $50,000 Donation, STCU Seeds Fund to Help Victims of Wildfire in Inland Northwest

SPOKANE, Wash.–STCU here has made a $50,000 contribution to support communities affected by recent wildfires in the Inland Northwest and is encouraging others to join it in also supporting the cause.

STCU said its Here for Good Foundation is encouraging donations at innovia.org/stcu-here-for-good-foundation to help those victimized by the fires to rebuild and recover.

“The various fires impacting our region are devasting to watch unfold,” said Chief Marketing Officer Marty Dickinson. “The Here for Good Foundation was established to help respond to critical needs in the communities we serve. Seven months after our Foundation’s launch, we are mobilized and ready to make good on that promise.”

‘History of Coming Together’

STCU said it has been joined in its community support by the Innovia Foundation, Premera Blue Cross and Washington Trust Bank.

“As a region, we have a history of coming together to take care of each other. Innovia was quick to stand up a wildfire emergency response fund for Eastern Washington,” said Innovia Chief Executive Officer Shelly O’Quinn. “This emergency fund provides an opportunity for neighbors to help neighbors and provide resources that will be needed now and in the future as our communities recover from the impacts of these devastating fires.”

Launched With $1 Million Endowment

The $5.6-billion STCU launched the Here for Good Foundation in January with a $1 million endowment that it hopes to grow to $10 million within 10 years. The foundation is administered by Innovia Foundation, which serves 20 counties in Eastern Washington and North Idaho. Founded in 1974, Innovia manages 800 charitable funds established on behalf of individuals and organizations “looking to create charitable legacies for the causes and organizations they love,” the credit union said.
