MADISON, Wis.–Sixteen people and their credit unions have been selected to participate in the inaugural Wisconsin Innovation Group.
The group held its first meeting at Credit Union House to kick off the program and is modeled after the Filene Research Institute’s i3 program. Corporate Central Credit Union is also a partner in the effort.
According to the Wisconsin league, the Innovators represent a broad cross section of credit union sizes, membership and geography, as well as a diverse array of roles within their credit unions.
“The innovators will engage their credit unions in a nine-month, collaborative process to create, test and implement financial products, services and business model ideas to benefit members,” the Wisconsin league said.
The Wisconsin league said that during the meeting the group discussed the program’s expectations and the process by which they will:
- Engage in ideation
- Develop actionable concepts for innovation
- Conduct testing
- Unveil their homegrown innovation at The League's 2018 annual convention
The objective is to use the Filene Research Institute's Filene Method innovation curriculum to bring an innovation competency to Wisconsin credit unions.
