PLANO, Texas–The Cornerstone Credit Union League has named the winner of its 2022 Small Credit Union Achiever Award as well as inducted one person into its Hall of Fame.
Named as winner of its Small CU Achiever Award is Becky Brosius, president/CEO of Combined Federal Credit Union in Little Rock, Ark. The award recognizes the “exemplary efforts” of professionals serving in credit unions under $50 million in assets.
Brosius joined credit unions in 1975 when she went to work for Teletype Federal Credit Union in Little Rock, the league reported.
“In working with Becky Brosius on committees associated with our business, I can certainly say she is a team player and meticulous in her duties,” said Sharon Hearnsberger, HSU Federal Credit Union president and CEO, in her nomination letter, the league shared. “I know that running a business requires wearing many hats, and it takes a special person with special attributes. I can recommend Becky without reservation for any endeavor she may choose to pursue.”
According to the league, Brosius’ dedication to the movement is most clearly exemplified in her willingness to educate and serve those around her, from her members and employees to the community.
She has previously served on the boards for Cornerstone Resources and the Cornerstone League and currently serves on the Cornerstone Small Credit Union Committee.
Hall of Famer
Meanwhile, the CCUL said it will induct Mike Kloiber into its Hall of Fame.
The Hall of Fame honors those in the credit union movement who reflect a history of service to credit unions and celebrates the accomplishments of those who have been key players in organizing and running credit unions.
Kloiber’s career in the financial services industry has spanned 43 years, including 33 years at Tinker FCU, the last 25 years as its president/CEO. During his tenure Kloiber nearly tripled the credit union’s membership while growing assets to $5 billion assets from $1 billion.
“Mike Kloiber’s career epitomizes the credit union philosophy of ‘people helping people’ through his tireless work to connect with the community around him, especially Tinker Air Force Base,” said CUNA President/CEO Jim Nussle in his letter of support for Kloiber’s nomination. “He has been instrumental in the success of larger organizations, such as the Cornerstone League, and has worked effortlessly to promote the credit union mission of financial inclusion.”
The CCUL said Kloiber has served organizations outside of Tinker FCU, including the boards of the Better Business Bureau of Central Oklahoma, the Defense Credit Union Council, and multiple other businesses, credit unions, and nonprofit organizations.
Tinker FCU published a tribute to Kloiber here.
The awards will be presented during Cornerstone League’s IMPACT 2022: Annual Meeting and Council Forums, in Grapevine, Texas, April 20–22.
