PLANO, Texas–Catalyst Corporate has a question for credit unions: “Will the Flat-Rate Environment Flatten You, Too?”
Catalyst will be offering some answers via a video event it has scheduled for today at 2:00 p.m. ET.
Noting the first six months of the year have now passed, “this year’s economy is proving to be a continuation of the ‘new normal’ – with slow growth, low inflation and continued high monetary stimulus,” Catalyst said.
It noted that U.S., GDP in the first quarter was a non-exciting 0.8%, following a non-exciting 1.4% and 2.0% in the prior two quarters. Even with a positive – albeit tepid – projection for consumer spending and international trade, GDP forecasts do not exceed 2.5% for the rest of 2016.
“While we would like a more vibrant economy with strong growth, it appears we will have to settle for lackluster,” said Mike McGinnis, one of Catalyst Strategic Solutions’ front-line experts who will share economic insights and strategy during video event.
The mid-year economic update will include a moderated panel discussion, during which Catalyst Strategic Solutions experts will address the current flat-rate environment and offer insights for the future. Topics include loan growth, liquidity, credit risk, investments and regulatory concerns.
Panelist include: Aaron Martini, Catalyst Strategic Solutions’ manager of ALM Client Services; Ben Lemoine, advisor at Catalyst Strategic Solutions and Mike McGinnis, vice president of Investment Sales at Catalyst Corporate.
The video will deliver information relevant to credit unions in an engaging visual format with insights for balance sheet management and operational efficiencies.
