Wichita FCU’s Growth Leads to New Building

WICHITA, Kan.–Wichita Federal Credit Union growth has led the CU to make plans to move its support services, technology and leadership teams into a new building.

"As our membership growth has increased over the last several years, so has our staff support services," WFCU president and CEO Ashley Bautista told the Wichita Business Journal. "We are at maximum capacity at our current locations, and as we continue to grow, we will need the additional facility to support the growth."

The $160.7-million WFCU reported 3.71% increase in membership in 2021.

Work began around three months ago on the project, and Wichita Federal Credit Union is aiming for completion during late third quarter or early fourth quarter of this year, according to the publication.

The 9,429 square-foot space is located in northwest Wichita. The new location will not have member-facing services.

Founded in 1940, the former Wichita Municipal FCU, which now serves anyone in Sedgwick County, has more than 12,000 members.

“We are focused on increased membership in the community and advancing technology," Bautista told the Wichita Business Journal. "The purchase of this building will help us move in that direction.”
