OSCODA, Mich.–One credit union here is encouraging break-ups this Valentine’s Day season—but in this case, it’s with a bank.
Northland Area Federal Credit Union is launching a “Break Up with Your Bank” campaign to coincide with Valentine’s Day. NAFCU partnered with CU Solutions Group to produce the fun, short video that Northland conceived and had produced. It incorporates and partners with the national “Open Your Eyes to a Credit Union” campaign that CUNA launched earlier last year.
“The campaign provides an inroad for our Member Relationship Specialists to have a discussion with our members that also have bank accounts – reminding them that credit unions can provide low cost personal and business services in our communities” said Marketing Director Matt Duthler in a statement.
The 15-second video shows a banker and a client (as most banks refer to them) at a romantic dinner. When the staff brings the banker the bill, he casually passes it to the client. The client then becomes upset and tells the banker they are through with paying fees. The video can be viewed here.
