WESTBROOK, Maine–The Maine Credit Union League's statewide Awareness Campaign has introduced a 'Where are they now?' digital awareness campaign that picks up some of the popular figures that were first introduced in the past few years' television and collateral advertising.
"The stories that we told were very compelling to begin with, and we thought that a unique approach would be to do a campaign that picks up their stories,” said Debra Trautman, VP-corporate marketing for the Maine CU League in a statement first published by the league. “It's been fascinating to see some of the changes that these characters have experienced and the role that their local credit union has played in helping them.”
The 'Where are they now?' segment begins with an update on The Campbell Family, whose family was changed dramatically with the birth of triplets doubling the number of kids from three to six. Infants when they first appeared in a TV and extended video campaign, the Campbell triplets are now toddlers and the Campbells still sing the praises of their local credit union for helping save time and money with mobile technology and with the purchase of a new, larger vehicle to accommodate their large family.
To date, The Campbell Family video has received nearly 40,000 views on YouTube, a number that continues to grow, the league reported.
Also featured:
- Carson, the owner of The Gorham Grind, who was first featured in 2013 when he had a single location coffee shop with a mobile truck back. Three years later, Carson's credit union loan made it possible for him to develop Rocket Fuel, a new product that's now sold nationwide. "My credit union takes a long-term approach to help me fulfill my goals. They're looking at WHERE I'm trying to go. A conventional bank wouldn't even consider that," Carson told the MCUL.
- Amy Bouchard and Wicked Whoopies, who were profiled in a new :30 commercial and extended video vignette. In the commercial, Bouchard highlighted how it was "my credit union that helped me purchase a building to continue my business when other lenders would not help." Today, Bouchard has a new facility in Freeport and credits her credit union every step of the way and looks forward to the future. "One of my goals in life is to make our Wicked Whoopies available to everyone on the planet, and I know my credit union is there for me when I need a loan,” the MCUL quoted her as saying.
- Olivia Surprise, a college student who brought a young perspective to a commercial focused on technology and convenience.
The Maine league reported that traffic to www.mainecreditunions.org continues to increase, especially with people viewing its commercials and the stories behind them.
