McCLEAN, Va.—How serious is Capital One in stepping up the already heated credit card rewards battle?
The issuer is offering 10 times the airline miles when cardholders stay at any hotel booked through Hotels.com.
“Typically, those cards offer just twice the miles on purchases,” MarketWatch said.
The offer applies to Capital One Venture or Venture One cards. The partnership targets consumers who don't want to be tied to a particular hotel brand, MarketWatch explained.
Consumers can also still participate in Hotels.com's loyalty program, while getting the benefits of the increased credit-card rewards, MarketWatch said.
As CUToday.info has extensively reported, major issuers are stepping up their rewards programs to capture more market share. But analysts also recently warned that big banks may pull back on card balance transfer programs due to increasing card delinquencies.
