West Virginia Central FCU Donates $125,000 To More Than 70 Charities

VIENNA, W. V.–West Virginia Central FCU here has donated $125,000 in total to more than 70 charities in its markets.

Recipients of funds from the credit union came together at the Grand Point Conference Center to accept the donations, where refreshments were available and there was an opportunity to meet with the leaders of other non-profits.

The event also attracted local media coverage.

Representatives of West Virginia Central told local media the donations are a way to give back to the community.

"The community does so much for us." WVCFCU president/CEO Michael Tucker was quoted by WBUR as saying. "We're a financial institution that they deposit money with us, they borrow from us and we earn and exist because of their support of us so in turn we should turn around and support them."
