CUPERTINO, Calif.—Apple Watch, the subject of debate over what the technology will mean to the delivery of financial services, has already sold out during pre-ordering.
The new high-tech smartwatch, which goes formally on sale April 24, went fast during Internet ordering Friday.
Online pre-orders began at 12:01 a.m. PT, but all variations of the new device – it comes in two sizes, made of three materials, and with a host of band choices – sold out online in under six hours, the Huffington Post reported.
None of the Apple Watch Sport models, which start at $349, will ship until June, according to Apple’s website. Some of the 20 models of the stainless steel version, which start at $549, will ship in four to six weeks, while other variations will also ship in June.
The variations of the Edition model, which is made of gold and starts at $10,000 and goes up to $17,000, won’t ship until June, the newspaper reported.
