WARWICK, R.I.– Wave Federal Credit Union has named a new president and CEO, and made several other senior executive announcements as well.
The credit union has selected David P. Dupéré to lead the organization, while further naming Betty A. Pinheiro as VP-operations and Elizabeth L. Zachow as VP-lending.
Dupéré was appointed as the president/CEO of Wave following the retirement of Paul Archambault, who had been CEO since 2005. Dupéré has served as EVP and COO since 2008, according to the Cooperative CU Association, which first reported the executive changes.
Prior to joining the $139-million Wave FCU, Dupéré served as president/CEO of Warwick Municipal Credit Union (also known as Anchor Federal Credit Union) for 14 years. Prior to that he served for six years as treasurer and chief operating officer of Bayside FCU and Bostitch FCU, the CCUA
Dupéré is chairman of the Credit Unions of Rhode Island Social Responsibility Committee, and formerly chaired the Rhode Island Credit Union League, served as chair of the National Association of State Chartered Credit Unions (NASCCU), and on the NASCUS board.
“I am truly honored to have been selected as Wave’s President/CEO. I have an incredible amount of pride for the credit union and the team that we have built and grown,” Dupéré was quoted by the CCUA as saying. “I am very excited to have been selected to lead Wave into its next chapter and look forward to advancing our vision, and the credit union way of banking.”
Other Changes
Betty A. Pinheiro has been promoted to the position of Vice President of Operations. Pinheiro joined Wave in 1995 as an intern providing administrative support to the president and CEO and for over 25 years worked her way up to director of operations, AVP-member service and now as the VP-operations.
Elizabeth L. Zachow has joined Wave FCU as the VP-lending. Prior to joining Wave, she most recently as AVP-member and partner lending at Core Plus Credit Union in Norwich, Conn.
