SPRINGFIELD, Va.–The former Washington Gas Light Federal Credit Union has changed its name. The credit union is now TruEnergy FCU.
On its website, TruEnergy, which is marking its 80th anniversary, said the new name “reflects our commitment to serving the energy industry – past, present and future.”
“Washington Gas Light FCU is our foundation and legacy – we will not forget that,” the statement continues. “As we continue to grow, we will be able to serve you even better with new and improved products and services under our new brand.”
The $123-million credit union reassured members the name change does not reflect a merger.
TruEnergy has approximately 8,500 members.
