ATLANTA—A website is now available for credit unions wishing to make a claim to a portion of the Home Depot data breach settlement fund. Claims must be filed by Sept. 14.
Credit unions can use the site to file a claim for part of the $25 million settlement fund. Claims can be both to request a fixed payment estimated to be $2 per compromised card and to request an additional award of up to 60% of documented unreimbursed losses experienced between Sept. 1, 2014, and Dec. 31, 2014, according to CUNA.
CUNA, as well as leagues and credit unions, are among the plaintiffs in the lawsuit, which stems from a 2014 data breach that compromised 56 million credit and debit cards.
Questions about the process can be directed to the settlement administrator at 1-844-412-4019 or homedepotbanksettlementclaim.com.
