WOCCU to Host Webinar on ‘ATM Crime: It’s What You Don’t Know That Can Hurt You’

MADISON, Wis.–The World Council of Credit Unions will host a webinar titled “ATM Crime: It's What You Don't Know That Can Hurt You” on June 11. The webinar will begin at 11 a.m. E.T.

“According to data from Pinkerton, ATM crime increased 600% from 2019 -2021, influenced by the pandemic,” Filene said. “Lowers Risk Group data shows a 165% increase year over year from 2021 – 2022. ABA Insurance Services recorded a five-fold increase in the number ATM crime claims from 2020 to 2022.  And we know the trend continues today.  No segment of the ATM industry is escaping unharmed.”

What’s on Agenda

The World Council said David Tente, executive director, USA and Americas with the ATM Industry Association, will highlight current trends in ATM crime and discuss the importance of staying informed about current and local criminal activity.

“Criminal activity is not homogenous – the same from state to state or region to region,” Filene said. “No ATM deployer likes being connected to an ATM crime of any kind.  But trying to hide from the current reality actually makes matters worse.  You need to know what your peers are experiencing – and they need to know yours.”

World Council said it will be offering CPE credits for this webinar. Participants must be present for the full session to receive credit. Attendance will be recorded. There is no fee to attend.
