MADISON, Wis.–The World Council of Credit Unions said it will host a webinar today titled “The Social Value Measurement Opportunity: Building on Credit Union Strengths To Enhance Impact.”
The webinar will begin at 11 a.m. ET.
“The best banking deals create value for a range of other stakeholders through improvement in physical and mental health and enhancing wellbeing,” WOCCU said. “This is the type of banking offered by credit unions, and represents a key opportunity for differentiation in financial services markets. The challenge is that measuring the social value of our work through the risk focused measurement approaches of standard ESG frameworks often understates our performance (or misses non- financial value creation entirely). These limitations create an environment where an important opportunity for Credit Unions to leverage purpose and mission as a strategic differentiator is underutilized, but there is work underway to solve for this.”
Speakers & Takeaways
The webinar will be led by Keith Taylor, executive director of the DUCA Impact Lab at DUCA Credit Union in Canada. WOCCU said Taylor will detail the Impact Lab’s work with Simetrica Jacobs (U.K.) and Social Value Canada to address these challenges.
According to WOCCU, those participating in the webinar will:
- Expand understanding of the social value outcomes of credit union products
- Learn how the impact credit unions have on society can be valued
