WOCCU to Host Seminar This Week on COVID-19 and Non-Performing Loans

MADISON, Wis.– The World Council of Credit Unions will host a webinar this week on “COVID-19 Related Non-Performing Loans (NPLs) and the Challenges Facing Credit Unions.”

The International Advocacy webinar is scheduled for Thursday at 10 a.m. ET.

“The COVID-19 pandemic has compounded many of the traditional institutional stressors credit unions around the globe face on a daily basis,” WOCCU said. “An increase in non-performing loans and other expected credit losses are major factors contributing to those increased stressors. This World Council of Credit Unions’ International Advocacy webinar will explore the depth of this problem and examine the ways both regulators and credit unions can address it.”

The webinar will feature presentations on:

  • The $2-Trillion Question: What’s on The Horizon for Credit Losses, by Osman Sattar, Director, EMEA Financial Institutions, S&P Global Ratings
  • The Impact of Non-Performing Loans on Credit Unions, by Steven Stapp, President and CEO, Unitus Community Credit Union
  • A Q&A with Steven Stapp and Andrew Price, SVP-International Advocacy with WOCCU.
