WOCCU to Host Earth Day Webinar on ‘Exploring the Opportunity of Credit Union Climate Solutions’

MADISON, Wis.–The World Council of Credit Unions will host a special Earth Day webinar titled, “Exploring the Opportunity of Credit Union Climate Solutions.” The webinar is scheduled for April 22 at 11 a.m. ET.

“April 22 marks the 54th anniversary of Earth Day—an annual event that draws the world’s attention to the critical issue of environmental protection,” WOCCU said. “In 2024, environmental protection is synonymous with climate change mitigation and resilience, something more and more credit unions are incorporating into their own internal practices and through the products and services they offer to members.”

The World Council said the webinar will examine the status of climate finance regulations and considerations internationally, including taking a “deep dive” into how one credit union system in Brazil is “boldly moving forward with solutions, while keeping an eye on climate risk, regulations and compliance at the national level.”
