MADISON, Wis.–The World Council of Credit Unions has released two videos offering updates on the success of a program to build affordable housing for low- and middle-income residents of Haiti.
WOCCU recently concluded its Haiti HOME Program, funded by the United States Agency for International Development. That program sought to address gaps in both the demand and supply sides of the housing value chain in Haiti to create green, affordable housing, WOCCU reported.
The videos show how the World Council and credit unions in Haiti accomplished the goal and were able to provide affordable mortgages, while also rewarding developers for building sustainable housing through an incentive structure known as pay-for-performance (P4P).
