MADISON, Wis.–Three organizations are offering three different webinars today related to the coronavirus pandemic.
The World Council of Credit Unions will be hosting a webinar today on the coronavirus pandemic and its effects across a variety of credit union operations and issues.
The webinar is set for 11 a.m. ET and will feature WOCCU President/CEO Brian Branch, WOCCU VP-Advocacy Andrew Price, and Corporate Communications Manager Greg Neumann.
“Through this webinar, World Council of Credit Unions' executives will address the regulatory advocacy challenges faced by our members and their credit unions in coping with the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, and offer guidance and best practices for dealing with the crisis,” WOCCU said in a statement.
According to WOCCU, topics will include:
- An overview of the operational impacts of the pandemic, both in the present and with the prospect of a global recession
- A survey of various national regulatory responses as they apply to credit unions
- Guidance and regulatory requirements released by various national regulators and international standard setting bodies
- Best practices designed to help credit unions with advocacy to policy makers on the crisis
“Our goal is to help you decide which measures may be beneficial or harmful for credit unions, but also to assist on advocacy with policymakers as they formulate their responses to the crisis,” WOCCU said. “Expect further discussion on various loan forbearance requirements, liquidity and capital requirements, virtual meetings for boards and members, as well as measures intended to provide support for employees, small businesses (SMEs) and others.”

NCUA Webinar
As CUToday.info reported earlier, NCUA is also hosting a webinar today on its response to the coronavirus pandemic. The webinar is scheduled for 2 p.m. ET, is scheduled to last for one hour, and is limited to no more than 2,500 participants on a first-come, first-serve basis.
