ORLANDO, Fla.–VyStar Credit Union plans to expand its footprint to the south and west of its Jacksonville home market with four new local branches.
In the metro Orlando market, VyStar plans to open a 2,527-square-foot location at 4699 W. Lake Mary Blvd. that formerly housed a BB&T branch, according to city of Lake Mary documents cited by the Orlando Business Journal. No construction or open dates have been announced, a spokesperson told the Business Journal.
Branches are also planned in Mount Dora and Winter Garden, Fla., as well as Titusville on the east coast. The Business Journal noted VyStar already has branches in Sanford, Fla. and in downtown Orlando. After the opening of the Mount Dora location, VyStar will have 62 branches, with roughly nine in Central Florida.
The move comes at the same time VyStar is planning to expand to the north into Georgia following its acquisition of Heritage Southeast Bank in Jonesboro, Ga., the credit union’s second bank acquisition.
The $10.8-billion VyStar has more than 765,000 members.
