Vote Is On To Get Question Before Clinton, Trump

WASHINGTON–Credit unions are hoping to put a question before presidential candidates Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton.

The organizers of the Oct. 9 Town Hall Presidential Debate are accepting questions that could be put before the candidates, with voting now taking place to identify the top 30 that could potentially be asked. Credit unions have rallied behind one question: Is there an alternative to the big banks on Wall Street?

CUNA has added a link to its Middle Class 2016 website, which was launched in 2015 with a goal of getting a commitment from the major parties’ presidential candidates to commit to supporting the credit union tax exemption and to lightening the regulatory burden, that allows people to cast their vote in favor of the CU question being put to the two candidates.
