NEW YORK—Voice-controlled artificial intelligence is quickly moving to the automotive industry, with a lot of options to be found within cars, a new report indicates. As
CUToday.info reported earlier, the auto manufacturers’ plans have also include ways to embed payments functionality in the in-car systems.
The average American has 51-minute round-trip commute five days a week, and commuters collectively spend $230 billion annually during those trips, noted Pymnts.com
“As the PYMNTS Digital Drive Report indicates, those same commuters seem to be affirming that their favorite co-pilot for these rides are their voice assistants,” the website stated.
More than 53% of commuters are already turning to voice assistants while driving, Pymnts.com said.
Pymnts.com noted that Amazon recently released Alexa Auto, an in-car device that pairs with a user's phone and allows them to interact with Alexa through the car's infotainment system.
