ARLINGTON, Va.—A virtual town hall discussion between NAFCU President and CEO Dan Berger and CFPB Director Rohit Chopra will be held today, beginning at 11 a.m. ET.
According to NAFCU, Berger and Chopra will discuss a broad range of issues impacting the credit union industry, including the Bureau’s rulemaking on “junk fees,” consumer access to financial records, and oversight of nonbank-covered persons.
In addition, they will discuss credit union priorities, such as the need for increased fintech supervision and the importance of community financial institutions to the health of the financial system, NAFCU stated.
Following the discussion, there will be a live Q&A session. Credit unions will have the opportunity to ask questions live but are encouraged to submit questions during registration, with NAFCU asking that questions be submitted by Oct. 13.
