‘Virtual Rock Festival’ to Perform Live on Nov. 8

LAS VEGAS–Mitchell Stankovic said it will host a “Virtual Rock Festival” on Nov. 8.

“It won't be a surprise to most that music can affect the human brain emotionally,” the company said in announcing the event. “It allows us to feel all the transformative experiences in our lives and connects us to a special place and time. That’s why the Underground is using music to inspire passion for purpose at the Underground Rock Festival.”

The event will begin at 12:30 p.m. ET/9:30 a.m. PST.

“It will be the place, the time to bring Rockstar Thought Leaders to you live on stage, and virtually on Underground TV, to evoke action and make a difference in 2022,” said Sue Mitchell, CEO of Mitchell, Stankovic & Associates and Founder of the Underground.

On the Main Stage

CO-OP Financial Services will be the presenting partner and Sarah Szilagyi, SVP, chief of staff to CO-OP’s chief experience officer, Samantha Paxson, will be delivering a keynote address on “Rethink Everything! Extreme Leadership, the Time is Now!”

According to Mitchell Stankovic, during her talk, Szilagyi will address how the credit union industry can survive and thrive into the future. She will also focus on the need for credit unions to invest and concentrate on member financial wellness and credit union cooperation.

“The Underground Collisions are among the key events in which industry leaders can gather to discuss in-depth the issues confronting us as a movement,” said Szilagyi. “It is definitely a time for extreme leadership, but it’s nothing that credit unions haven’t done or have been capable of throughout their history.”

Szilagyi will also participate in a panel discussion to challenge credit unions to cooperate and work as a united voice within regarding member wellness.

On the Set List

Other topics scheduled for the Underground Rock Festival will include:

  • Endangered – De Novos and Boutique credit unions are necessary for our future.
  • Urgency – We must be laser focused and move beyond COVIDization.
  • Xtreme Forward Thinking – Leaders must be bold and stand up to make a difference.
  • Diversity Champions– We must embrace the diversity of thought, community, and our people.
  • Come Together – The time is now! Cooperation amongst cooperatives for member wellness.

What kind of “Xtreme” challenges will participants be tackling? Mitchell Stankovic said Brett Martinez, president/CEO of Redwood Credit Union, offered this suggestion: “I would like to see the industry work together on ‘Financial Wellness for All.’ We should own it as an industry. Measure it and communicate the impact of what we do. But we can only do that if we work together.”

The festival will be virtually live streamed on the new Underground TV.
