YORK, Penn.–A video of a man who robbed a credit union here has gone viral following his bumbling escape. The video and related story were also picked up by numerous news outlets across the country.
Springettsbury Township Police Department shared video of the man as he made his getaway on a bicycle while spilling the stolen bills from his pocket. In the video, the man is seen realizing his mistake, getting off his bike, and walking back to pick up the loot from a rain-soaked sidewalk. While grabbing most of the cash, he left some bills behind.
The amount of money stolen has not been released. No weapon was shown during the robbery. Schools were put on lockdown while police searched the area.
