TUCSON, Ariz. – Vantage West said it is kicking off University of Arizona football season “Tucson Style” by launching this year’s Commitment to Community Campaign alongside Arizona Football Coach Rich Rodriquez.
During the coin toss at Arizona’s opening game, Vantage West will introduce eight local charities in a competition to win a grand prize of $10,000, second place award of $2,500, or third place award of $1,000.
“For more than 60 years Vantage West has been reinvesting our profits in the membership and in the communities we serve,” said Robert D. Ramirez, Vantage West president and CEO, in a statement. “Commitment to Community showcases some of our area’s finest nonprofits and encourages our neighbors and friends to vote for their favorites in exchange for a chance to win autographed prizes – everyone wins.”
As the official Coin Toss Sponsor for Arizona Football, Vantage West will formally begin this year’s Commitment to Community Campaign on Kickoff Night, Thursday, Sept. 3, at 7 p.m., during the UA vs Texas-San Antonio home game.
The eight charities featured in this year’s Commitment to Community Campaign are Boys and Girls Clubs of Tucson, El Rio Community Health Center, Arizona Fisher House, Junior Achievement of Arizona, Pima Council on Aging, Children’s Miracle Network, Tucson Police Foundation and United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona.
Voting by the public will determine the winners, and daily voting is encouraged. Each vote will automatically register the voter for a chance to win a piece of UA merchandise personally autographed by Coach Rodriguez. Winners will be announced weekly. The public can vote at Vantagewest.org/commitment.
