MODESTO, Calif.–Valley First Credit Union has selected a new CEO to replace the retiring Hank Barrett. Named to succeed Barrett effective May 20 is Kathryn Davis, who has most recently served as the CEO of BALANCE.
The $620-million Valley First launched a search for a new CEO in July of 2018 after Barrett announced he would be stepping down. The credit union said it developed a CEO leadership transition plan with Mitchell Stankovic & Associates.
Davis has more than 20 years of credit union executive management experience, including as CEO of BALANCE, a non- profit, social enterprise serving over 200,000 members nationwide with financial counseling services. “Valley First Credit Union has a treasured, meaningful past with an exciting and bright future,” said Davis. “This is an important time for Valley First, and I look forward to building upon this rich foundation. Under my leadership we will continue to pursue our number one goal—serving our membership and their communities.”
Barrett is retiring after 29 years of service at the credit union. "We want to thank Hank for his many years of dedicated service and we appreciate his support during this transition," stated VFCU Chairman Fred Cruz.
