SALT LAKE CITY, Utah–More than 2,200 credit union communities have thrown their support behind #VoteForMiracles and the effort to help local Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals win $100,000.
The hospital with the most votes after the promotion ends on Dec. 20 will be awarded $50,000. Second through fifth place will receive $20,000, $15,000, $10,000 and $5,000, respectively. The $100,000 gift is on behalf of America’s credit unions which is made possible thanks to the continued generosity of CU4Kids’ lead supporter CO-OP Financial Services.
“CO-OP is delighted that members of more than 2,200 credit unions are involved in this campaign,” said Sarah Canepa Bang, executive vice president, industry relations, for CO-OP Financial Services. “It’s gratifying to see so many members identify their credit unions when they vote. It’s clear they appreciate the credit union connection with the community.”
According to Children’s Miracle Network, currently the race for the top five spots remains very competitive with Hurley Children’s Hospital in Flint, Mich., leading the way. Mercy Children’s Hospital in Toledo, Ohio, continues to hold onto second place followed by Children’s Hospital –New Orleans, El Paso Children’s and Children’s Hospital of Georgia in Augusta. Packed tightly behind the top five are a dozen hospitals that still have an eye on finishing in the money.
Designed to engage consumers, #VoteForMiracles hopes to drive awareness of credit unions by highlighting the credit union difference. During the voting process, voters are asked to “choose their credit union.” The credit union that generates the most votes for the winning Children’s Miracle Network Hospital will be invited to be part of the check presentation at the culmination of the event.
