CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.–University of Virginia Community Credit Union has named a new president and CEO.
The $1.4-billion credit union said it has selected Susan M. Gruber to lead the organization. Gruber was previously EVP and CFO with the $9-billion Patelco credit Union in Dublin, Calif.
Gruber has also previously held positions that include serving as SVP/CFO for Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union in Lowell, Mass.; VP-finance officer for Bank of America in Boston, and VP/strategic analysis for Brown & Company Securities Corp in Boston.
Gruber succeeds the retiring Alison DeTuncq.
“Overall, Susan brings us more than 30 years of experience as a collaborative leader who focuses on teamwork and member experience. She has a deep commitment to the mission driven nature of the Credit Union movement,” said Board Chairman Jeffrey C. Moscicki in a statement.
While Gruber was with Patelco Credit Union it doubled its asset size.
Awards Won
During her career Gruber has won numerous awards, including the Most Influential Women of the Year in the San Francisco Business Times in 2020 and CFO of the Year from CUNA in 2016. She has been involved with CUFSLP Partnership, Habitat For Humanity, Children's Miracle Network Fundraiser, been a chairperson for D'Youville Foundation, and a board member for Girls Inc. of Lowell, Mass. and Lowell Day Nursery.
