University Of Illinois Community CU Names CEO

CHAMPAIGN, Ill.–University of Illinois Community Credit Union has named a new president/CEO. The credit union has selected Chris Harlan to lead the organization;

Harlan has been serving as interim CEO since August 2018.

Harlan has more than 14 years’ experience in the financial industry, and joined UICCU in 2009, serving as EVP/CEO prior to being named interim CEO. He has overseen all retail delivery channels and branches as well as managed UICCU’s strategic planning process, and “made significant contributions to the development of outstanding products, services, and member experience,” the credit union said.

Harlan was born and raised in Champaign. He currently resides in Mahomet, Ill., with his wife, Katie, and their three children, Zoe, Owen, and Mia. He also earned his MBA at the University of Illinois.

“I am grateful for this opportunity, and excited to work alongside our dedicated staff in this new role,” Harlan said. “I am most excited about continuing to serve our membership throughout campus and community.” 

The $346-million University of Illinois Community CU has approximately 47,000 members.
