University Of Hawaii FCU Adds Security Component To Online Banking Log-In

HONOLULU, Hawaii–University of Hawaii FCU is now offering members additional security when using its online banking service.

Online banking users now have the option to enroll in a Login Security Code service that sends a randomly generated security code via text or e-mail upon each online banking login attempt.  The system prompts members to enter the one-time code prior to granting access to their online banking information.

“By implementing state-of-the-art security technology such as EMV chips and online banking login security codes, our products and services have an even greater protection from fraud and theft, giving our members more peace of mind.” said Jeanine M. Morse, UHFCU president and CEO, in a statement. “This step forward is just another example of our dedication to meeting the needs of all of our member-owners while ensuring that their funds remain safe and secure.”

In October, the University of Hawaii Federal Credit Union also became one of the first financial institutions in Hawaii to offer the new EMV chip security technology for its Platinum Plus Credit Card.
