GRAND FORKS, N.D.–Marney Kresel, CEO of University Federal Credit Union, will retire on Jan. 8, 2016, after 25 years of service at the CU.
Kresel joined University Federal in 1991 from Telco Federal Credit Union, where she was a manager. Kresel was hired as a member service representative/teller, then was promoted to loan officer, and then assistant manager and manager following the retirement of the previous manager. As a manager, Kresel's position was re-classified as chief executive officer by the board.
During her career at University Federal Kresel oversaw growth to $29 million in assets from $8.5 million, oversaw the development, construction, and managing of a branch location, and has managed a number of relocations within the University as space was re-allocated.
“She has been responsible for the many services that have and continue to be added, and her commitment to the credit union has always allowed her to excel at her job,” University FCU said in its quarterly newsletter. “Marney’s strong leadership was the backbone for the credit union’s success for the past 15 years. Her expertise, knowledge, and dedication to the credit union will be missed. We would like to wish Marney the best of luck in her retirement.”
