United in Sustainability Summit Shares Green Ideas, Best Practices

NEW YORK—The United in Sustainability Summit for the credit union industry will take place next month, United Nations FCU announced.

The meeting will be held Oct. 23-24 in a hybrid format from United Nations headquarters here.

The Summit will share best practices and ideas on sustainability and provide opportunities for networking and peer learning. This year’s topics cover green financing, leading with social purpose, building the business case for credit unions, the member perspective, driving operational efficiencies, navigating the clean energy transition, communicating your impact and supplier diversity.

The meeting will conclude with remarks on how to leverage 2025 – the UN International Year of Cooperatives, UNFCU said.

In addition to speakers from the United Nations, speakers will join the meeting from the Columbia Climate School and Rutgers University/Filene Research Institute’s Center of Excellence on Innovation and Incubation.

“The Canadian Credit Union Association, together with several Canadian CUs, will present new resources and tools to help credit unions get started and move forward on their sustainability journeys,” UNFCU said.
