UPDATE: MECU of Baltimore announced early this morning that it wall of its branches here will be open today.
The credit union, which was chartered to serve municipal employees, had closed all of its branches yesterday afternoon, after initially closing four of the facilities for all of Tuesday. The branches were closed due to the declaration of a state of emergency in the city due to violence in response to the death of Freddie Gray, who died in police custody.
MECU said it will continue to "monitor the situation."
